Welcome to the new school year! It has been such a pleasure getting to know my new 4th grade class. What a fantastic crew! I anticipate a fun, productive, and memorable year with my awesome C.A.T.S. This newsletter (sent home each Friday) will cover the week’s lessons and summarize class and school activities. Please sign and return top section, and keep the bottom section for your reference.
Language Arts:
We’ve had fun getting into our daily morning routine, which includes grammar and cursive activities, art projects, and all kinds of writing! We’ve written journal entries, poetry and newspaper articles. Your child has created his/her own newsletter illustrating hobbies, heroes, and of course, summer vacation. Ask your child what s/he learned about fellow classmates this week! We’ve also begun a fun class novel called Sideways Stories from Wayside School.
Social Studies: This week we have reviewed the seven continents and created our own globes.
Spanish: Students have been having fun getting into the Spanish program again with Señorita Malone. This week students learned new greetings, expressed their moods, and played a game about their emotions and feelings.
Math: Students have been reviewing money and coin value this week. Students also learned how to play a critical thinking game called ‘Pico, Ferme, Bagel.’ Ask your child to teach you and the family how to play this fun game!
Miscellaneous:
*There will be no school this Monday, September 3th. (Labor Day)
*Picture Day is here! Thursday, September 6th. Smile!
*Back to School Night is Thursday, September 6th from 6:30-8:00pm. Come see what CATS Country is all about!
